Who can apply
UK independent production company leading an international co-production
Limited to the UK. More than one test applies, such as where you live and where your company is.
What you get
Non-recoupable grant of up to £300,000, capped at 50% of the UK financial contribution
| Headline amount | £300,000 | Maximum also 50% of the UK contribution, not 50% of the entire film budget. |
|---|---|---|
| Separately approved sustainability consultancy | £6,000 | Ring-fenced consultancy support, subject to approval, additional to the main award. Do not add unless requested and approved. |
Amounts stay in the currency the organiser uses. Caps, totals and alternatives are listed as published; don’t add them up.
What it costs
The official page didn’t state an entry fee when we read it on 17 Oct 2026. That isn’t the same as free: check the form before you count on it.
What to bring
The materials list isn’t in our notes. The application form will have it.
Terms to read first
| Additional notes | The applicant is an eligible independent UK parent production company, not an SPV. Another qualifying third-party source must contribute to the UK share, but that source need not be geographically UK-based. Minority TV co-productions require two qualifying financing broadcasters in two countries; majority require three in three. Qualifying VOD can count subject to rights conditions; worldwide buyouts do not automatically count. The parent company applies; a successful award transfers to the project SPV. No simultaneous same-project production applications to UKGSF, the BFI National Lottery Filmmaking Fund or BFI Doc Society Fund; only one can supply production support. Previous development support is a separate question. |
|---|---|
| Cashflow | Not a replacement for the rest of the finance plan. Standard fiction/animation shooting window 23 February–24 July 2027; documentary delivery by 24 May 2028. |
| Money terms | No ordinary revenue recoupment established for the listed grant route; reporting, eligible-cost, contractual and recovery-for-breach terms still apply. |
