What to bring

  • Fiction: full screenplay of at most 12 pages. Documentary: treatment of at most 10 pages. These are not interchangeable.
  • Budget and schedule; a prior directed sample made in 2017 or later, under 40 minutes. A qualifying episodic/music-video sample can be acceptable; a reel, trailer or proof-of-concept alone is not.
  • New short of at most 12 minutes; sample eligibility and the two-short directing-credit requirement are separate checks.
  • Two eligible directorial work samples must be hosted on Vimeo, not on YouTube or general file-sharing platforms; each must satisfy the published sample rules.
  • Director biography/CV, artist statement, mentorship and distribution goals, English application materials and properly cleared documentary access/rights are also required.
  • Hybrid projects are welcomed by the FAQ, but must select the appropriate narrative/documentary application path and its exact screenplay or treatment requirements.
